For our 7th QCCMTL evening, we are presenting Mysterious Skin (2004)! This film directed by Gregg Araki, follows two young men, Neil and Brian, whose lives are forever altered by a shared trauma. While Neil leads a risky life full of encounters, Brian is searching to make sense of the blanks in his childhood, convinced that he was abducted by aliens. This poignant drama explores identity and the lasting effects of trauma with rare sensitivity. Elevated to cult status for its LGBTQ+ themes and bold approach, Mysterious Skin is a must-see of queer cinema.
