“Imagine a day when the sun never rises. This is the starting point of the second feature by Franco-Manitoban director Rhayne Vermette, who first gained attention with Ste. Anne (2021). Levers follows three characters whose destinies intertwine amid strange events in a world shaken by cosmic disruption. Shot on 16 mm using damaged cameras, the film unfolds a rare visual language—burst images, grainy textures, and mesmerizing soundscapes.
