In a universe where human beings sleep during the coldest months of the year, a boy emerges prematurely from his hibernation into a snowy forest. Left to his own devices, he sets out to find his sister. Later, as spring blossoms anew and other humans gradually awaken, it’s his sister’s turn to retrace this mysterious path. In this hybrid curiosity, where contemplation flirts with faux-scientific mysticism, Anna Cornudella Castro poetically reconfigures the Anthropocene; a reversal of roles between humans and animals that provokes as much awareness as it does strange and disturbing images. An atmospheric work of the world’s end, disconcerting and unclassifiable.
