Backed by the expertise of Yannick Nézet-Séguin and the Orchestre Métropolitain, director Chloé Robichaud brings to the screen a modern-day young woman’s struggle to carve out her own space in a notoriously competitive, traditionally male environment. Emotionally complex and visually assured, with a note-perfect Sophie Desmarais in the lead, Robichaud’s latest outing attests to the desire for a more freewheeling and intuitive cinema.
