A thirteen year old girl struggles with rumours and judgments in a little town were looks can easily be deceiving.

Despite all of life’s tests, the community of Sainte-Adeline remains strong. But now it will have to confront a situation that will force the residents to reckon with their contradictions. At the centre of the scandal is Magalie, a teen with a childish, pouty face; Manuel, the adopted son of the village’s popular mayor; and Isabelle and Chantale, protective mothers and witnesses to a predicted tragedy. From prejudice to secrets and silence, Jeanne Leblanc (Isla Blanca) dissects small-town life, where appearances and conformity rule. With fine, sensitive performances by Marianne Farley, Émilie Bierre and Judith Baribeau, who also co-wrote the film.
